Date: Sunday, 8 November 2026 (Deepavali). Monday, 9 November is also a public holiday.
Want an evening out in the city that the whole family can enjoy? Gardens by the Bay has two good reasons to visit today.
Borealis at Supertree Grove (free)
Borealis is an outdoor light and sound installation by Swiss artist Dan Acher. It recreates the Northern Lights above the Supertrees, with music by French composer Guillaume Desbois. Gardens by the Bay's page says it runs every Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8pm to 8.30pm, with free admission. That includes today, Sunday 8 November, and tomorrow's public holiday Monday.
Note that Borealis is cancelled if it rains during show times. The page also notes that ticketed events such as Christmas Wonderland may restrict access to Supertree Grove, and from 27 November the show time changes to 9.05pm to 9.20pm. For now, today's show is at 8pm.
Sunflower Surprise at Flower Dome (ticketed, ends 9 November)
Gardens by the Bay's social posts say Sunflower Surprise runs until 9 November at Flower Dome, which is open 9am to 9pm according to an events guide. Admission to Flower Dome is ticketed, so check the Gardens by the Bay website for current prices and any citizen or PR rates before you go. Tomorrow is the last day.
Planning tips
- Reach Supertree Grove early for a good spot, and bring a mat if you want to sit.
- Take MRT to Bayfront, then walk through the link bridge. Mosquito repellent helps in the evening.
- Weekend crowds are common, especially on long weekends.

We could not load Gardens by the Bay's Sunflower Surprise page, so ticket prices and hours for the Flower Dome come from social posts and a third-party guide. Please check before buying.

Malls
- The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Suntec City and Marina Square are all within reach of Gardens by the Bay by MRT or a short ride, handy for dinner before the 8pm show.
- Weekend guides report a free Sesame Street Magical Art World at Marina Square (with a minimum spend) and a free "Soundtracks" show at the Esplanade concourse in the evening. These come from third-party guides, so please confirm on the venues' own pages.
Food
For a classic Singapore dinner, Lau Pa Sat in the central business district is a well-known hawker centre. Please check current stall and opening hours. We did not verify a specific hidden food spot for today.
Deepavali events
Weekend guides mention a Deepavali light-up and festival village in Little India (from 7pm) and the Indian Heritage Centre's open house. The Indian Heritage Centre event was reported as free and ending today. Please check the organisers' pages for times.
