Date: Sunday, 8 November 2026 (Deepavali). Monday, 9 November is also a public holiday.
Living in central Singapore, around Ang Mo Kio? You do not need to travel far for a fun family day. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, one of the city's best-loved parks, has water play, big playgrounds and a riverside to stroll along, and entry is free.
Water playground
NParks says the water playground operates from Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays, 8am to 11am and 4pm to 8pm. With today being a Sunday and a public holiday, and tomorrow a public holiday as well, you can plan around those two time slots. The midday gap is a good time for lunch at a nearby hawker centre or mall.
Playgrounds for all abilities
The park also has an inclusive playground, designed for children of different abilities, and an adventure playground. NParks lists both as open 24 hours. The inclusive playground is near disability-friendly toilets and has barrier-free access to Carpark A and bus stops.
Walk or cycle the river
The park is open 24 hours and free to enter, with lights on from 7pm to 7am. The Kallang River was naturalised here, so kids can spot dragonflies, birds and fish along the paths. Cycling and jogging are popular too.
Tips
- Bring swimwear or a change of clothes, a towel and slip-proof shoes for the water play.
- Go early for shade, or after 4pm when the water playground reopens.
- Check the weather. Water play areas may close in bad weather.
Getting there
The park is along Bishan Road, a short walk from Bishan and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations (bus connections available). Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park on Google Maps
