Choosing a gym in Singapore can feel like comparing apples, durians and dragon fruit. One chain quotes a monthly price, another quotes weekly, a third says "enquire at the club", and the contract lengths range from a few weeks to two years.
So we pulled the main paid options into one place, using each gym's own pages where we could open them and recent independent price roundups where we could not. We have no sponsorship or affiliate arrangement with any gym mentioned here.
A note first: True Fitness and True Yoga closed all their Singapore outlets on 10 September 2026 after the company entered provisional liquidation, so they are not on our list. We cover what that means for how you pay further down.
The quick comparison
Here is how the main options line up. Monthly figures for weekly-priced gyms are our own conversions (weekly price x 52 / 12), rounded.
- ActiveSG gyms: $2.50 per entry, or $30 a month (all hours) and $15 a month (off-peak). No contract. Basic equipment and standard facility hours rather than 24/7.
- Anytime Fitness: Set per club. One club shows $99 a month on a 12-month plan. Third-party roundups quote about $98 to $158 a month. 24-hour access and a key fob that works at other Anytime clubs.
- 24/7 Fitness: One roundup lists $98 a month on a 12-month plan, but another reports its Singapore site was not showing prices. Check the live price.
- SAFRA EnergyOne: For SAFRA members. Roughly $45 to $54 a month by term in third-party guides. SAFRA lists $25 to $35 a month for members aged 65 and above.
- Fitness First: About $200 a month for one club or $225 for all clubs, according to independent roundups. Strong free-weights floors and many classes.
- Virgin Active: From $41 a week (about $178 a month) for one visit a week, $69 to $76 a week (about $300 to $330 a month) for unlimited on a 12 or 24 month plan, and from $92 a week (about $400 a month) flexible.
- Pure Fitness: Price on enquiry. A 2026 cheatsheet lists $175 to $400 a month for premium CBD clubs.
As a rule of thumb: ActiveSG for the lowest cost, an Anytime-style 24-hour gym for flexible hours, and a full-service club if you want pools, classes and recovery facilities.

Anytime Fitness clubs are independently owned, so fees, contracts and extra charges differ from club to club. The official Tampines East page shows a 12-month plan at $99 a month with no joining fee under two offers: one for uniformed, healthcare, community care, social service and education workers, and one for students and people aged 55 and above (17% off a 12-month plan). The page does not show a standard price.
Open 24/7 for members via key fob.
One membership gives access to other Anytime clubs, including overseas.
Free trial available; ask the club for a day pass.
Contract length varies, commonly 6, 12 or 18 months. Check early-exit costs.
Smaller, no-frills clubs with equipment focused on functional training; staffed hours are limited.
Independent roundups report around 160 Singapore clubs, but we could not confirm the count on the official site.

Virgin Active publishes its prices weekly on its Singapore site. Once-A-Weeker starts at $41 a week with one in-club workout or class per week and a 12-week minimum. Long Termer is $69 to $76 a week for unlimited clubs and classes, on a 12 or 24 month commitment. Goal Getter starts at $92 a week with a 12-week commitment. Virgin Active says it charges no joining fee, and every membership includes a free coaching session, on-demand workouts and workout gear. A "8 Weeks Half Price" offer was listed on the Long Termer plan; check the end date on the site.
Fitness First was not fully readable on its official site from our research tools, so the numbers below are from independent roundups: about $200 a month for one club and about $225 for access to all clubs, with no joining fee. A FitPass credit system for casual visits works out to roughly $35 to $55 a visit, according to one roundup. Contract terms of 4 or 12 months and joiner promotions were mentioned, but the roundups gave conflicting end dates, so please confirm directly.
Both are premium clubs with classes and a full range of equipment. Virgin Active's selling points are its pools and recovery zone, with a small number of clubs.
Before you sign: a short checklist

After True Fitness and True Yoga closed on 10 September 2026, the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) received more than 1,500 complaints, reporting about S$3.8 million in prepayment losses between 10 and 30 September. CASE notes that consumers are generally unsecured creditors when a company is liquidated, so filing a claim does not guarantee getting your money back. In earlier advice, CASE suggested being cautious with large upfront payments and choosing shorter payment arrangements where possible.
Most gyms operate normally, but this is a good reminder to protect yourself:
Try before you buy: ask for a free trial or a day pass.
Prefer paying monthly over a big lump sum, and keep the term short if you are unsure.
Ask for the total cost: joining fee, admin fee, GST, and what happens if you want to leave early.
Ask how to freeze or transfer your membership, and what happens if you move.
Get the price and any free gifts in writing, and take your time before signing.
Do not assume a promotion price lasts. Check whether it rises after the first term.
Be wary of pressure to prepay for many months or buy personal training packs upfront.
If you are unsure about a gym or have a dispute, CASE can be reached on 6277 5100 or at case.org.sg.
Which one suits you?
Occasional gym-goer, under about 12 visits a month: ActiveSG at $2.50 an entry.
Regular visits and want low cost: ActiveSG $30 peak or $15 off-peak pass. See
Odd hours or shift work: a 24-hour gym such as Anytime Fitness.
Classes, pool and extras: Fitness First or Virgin Active.
National Service background: check SAFRA EnergyOne eligibility.
One caution: the $30 ActiveSG pass beats the $2.50 entry fee only above about 12 visits a month. And whichever you choose, visit at the time you plan to go, to see how crowded it is.
