Not running this year? You can still be part of it. The BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas takes over the city from 4 to 6 December 2026, and supporters along the route are a big part of what keeps runners going.
A heads-up before we begin: this is an early guide. The organisers say detailed road closures and traffic advisories will be published closer to race day, and the official spectator information has not been released yet. We have marked clearly what is confirmed and what is not, and we will update this once it is.
The race weekend at a glance

All races start at the F1 Pit Building and finish inside the National Stadium. Here is the line-up from the organisers:
- Friday 4 December: Kids Dash in the morning, then the Standard Chartered 10km at 8:30pm and the 5km at 9:30pm.
- Saturday 5 December: adidas Half Marathon, flag-off at 4:30am.
- Sunday 6 December: BYD Marathon and Crew Challenge, flag-off at 4:30am.
The two evening races on Friday may be the easiest for supporters, since you do not need a pre-dawn start. The marathon, half marathon and Crew Challenge are listed as sold out for runners, so being a cheerer is the way in if you missed out.
Reports on the new route say the marathon passes Marina Bay and the Kallang basin, and the 10km goes past Suntec City and War Memorial Park, over Merdeka Bridge and the old Kallang Airport before the stadium finish. Routes may still change, so please check the official map before choosing a cheering spot.
Getting there: free early MRT on Sunday

The organisers recommend public transport because of road closures and congestion around the start and finish.
4 December (evening races): trains run on normal schedules. Nearby stations include Promenade, Nicoll Highway, Esplanade and City Hall.
6 December: selected North-South, East-West and Circle Line stations open from 2:30am at 15-minute intervals, and rides are free for the public. The last free departures are at 4:30am from Bukit Batok, Jurong East, Tanah Merah and Serangoon.
5 December: there are no early train services, so plan a ride-hail or shuttle if you are heading to the 4:30am half marathon.
Only selected stations open early on 6 December, so check the full list on the organiser's Race Day Transport page.
If you are being dropped off by car, the organisers list Millenia Walk, Marina Square, Suntec City Convention Centre, Esplanade and Raffles City as the closest drop-off points to the start line, subject to road access and traffic arrangements. Parking may be affected by road closures.
What we do not know yet

As of today, these have not been announced:
The list of road closures and when each road reopens.
Bus diversions. For reference, last year's bus diversion notice was posted just one day before the first affected day, so keep an eye on SMRT, SBS Transit and LTA from about 3 December.
Official spectator zones or cheering points.
Whether any event village or bag services are open to supporters.
Once these are published, we will update this guide. Until then, a simple plan helps: choose one spot near an MRT station along the route, bring water and a power bank, and agree on a meeting point with your runner for after the finish.
