What you get

Spend S$10 or more in total on public transport in Singapore and you receive a S$2 credit. The reward can be earned up to 2 times per month, so the most you can receive is S$4 a month. The page does not state an overall spending cap.

Who can use it

The offer is for American Express cardmembers. The offer page says all American Express contactless cards can be used for transit, including foreign-issued cards and cards from bank partners. It does not spell out which cards qualify for the S$2 credit, so check the offer terms in your American Express App.

How to claim

  1. Save the offer to your Card through the American Express App, or via the link on the offer page (m.amex/transitoct-web).
  2. Tap your American Express contactless card at the gantry or bus reader for MRT and bus fares.
  3. Reach S$10 in cumulative public transport spend to earn your S$2 credit, up to 2 times per month.

A SimplyGo account is optional, but American Express suggests signing up and registering your card so you can see your travel history.

Things to note

  • Valid from 7 Oct 2026 to 30 Nov 2026, as stated on the offer page.
  • Covers train (MRT) and bus fares, including basic and premium bus services under SimplyGo. Private buses are excluded, and premium buses qualify only if run by public transport operators.
  • Concession fares and concession passes do not apply to American Express contactless cards.
  • Personal and Small Business Cards issued by American Express International Inc. do not earn Membership Rewards, Cashback, KrisFlyer miles, HighFlyer points or STAR$ on Singapore public transit payments. If your card is issued by DBS or UOB, check with the issuer.
  • Using more than one contactless card at a gate or reader can cause entry to be denied and may result in several cards being charged. Make sure you have enough credit before tapping.
