On December 5, the Indian government announced that they have enlisted Singapore on Non-Risk countries and is now cleared to exclude additional safety measures. Among these measures includes the seven-day quarantine and retesting on the 8th day.

Individuals from Singapore can now travel freely but must comply with all requirements needed upon boarding and the other countries that are on the Low-Risk countries.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) also informed Singaporeans and those who reside in Singapore that only 2% of random passengers will undergo a Polymerase Chain Reactor (PCR) Test upon arrival at the airport in India.

The Indian government also advises travelers to check on themselves for 14 days for any possible Covid19 infections.

If you're one of the 2% of the random individuals to be testes, you don't need to worry too much. If your Covid19 test comes back positive, you will be guided and monitored by India's health workers and treated based on their standardized protocol.

But, if it turns out to be negative, you have to apply safety measures to prevent yourself from being infected, such as wearing the mask properly, distancing, and of course-healthy foods.

Meanwhile, countries belonging to the High Risk were countries in Europe, including The United Kingdom, Botswana, Brazil, South Africa, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong, and Israel. These countries need to follow the new additional safety measures added—both Ghana and Tanzania to the High Risk on Monday, December 6, 2021.

If you are a passenger from these countries, you need to take post-arrival testing and other airport restrictions.

According to the government of India, “A passenger can exit the airport or can take connecting flights for final destination once a negative report is received. He or she need not to wait for the report of all the co-passengers."

Even if Singapore now belongs to the Low-risk country in India, still, we have to keep ourselves safe. Travel only if necessary.
