The discovery of vaccines decreased the severity of the symptoms and deaths due to Covid-19. The original strand virus, SARS-CoV-2, is transferrable to other individuals, and most of the affected among this belongs to the vulnerable person.

The Ministry of Health previously gave interim authorisation for vaccines such as mRNA vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech/ Moderna) and non-mRNA(Sinocav-CoronaVac). But, this Novavax might have permission too after it completes various factors.

According to the HSA, biotechnology from the United States submitted their data on Singapore Pandemic Special Access Route (PSAR) on November 22. But, the company announced the application to the public on November 24 and said that they handed over their non-mRNA protein-based Covid19 vaccine, NVX-CoV2373, to the PSAR.

The first trial they made with the Novavax in the United States and Mexico participants, which rose to 30,000 individuals, shows 90.4% effectiveness. It is said to 100% guarantee giving protection for those who have moderate to severe diseases.

In a media conference, Novavaxx company said, "In both trials, NVX-CoV2373 demonstrated a reassuring safety and tolerability profile".

There was another result showing 96.4% effectivity against the original strain of Covid-19 in another trial on 15,000 individuals in the United Kingdom. It also showed 83.6 effectiveness in the B117 (An alpha variant of Covid19) and rising to 89% of the overall capacity.

It will be the second brand of non-mRNA vaccine that the government will give or distribute if they complete the process and pass the safety and efficacy under HSA.

As the people of Singapore and other individuals now choose to be vaccinated against Covid19. It is essential to thoroughly check the Novavax vaccine's capacity to fight against the Covid19 virus and different strains.

HSA also clarified that the process would depend on Novavax's response to their queries during the process.

"The review timeline may vary from several weeks, if the data is complete and meets the stipulated standards, to months, if there are data gaps and inconsistencies in the dossiers," HSA stated.
