In the early afternoon on November 6, an accident happened outside Yishun MRT. One of the Tower Transit buses collides with the taxi stand, causing half of it to crash down. Due to the collision, the upper deck's front glass was damaged severely by the taxi stand's roof.

Unfortunately, the bus driver, aged 63 years old, was injured along with the other two females, aged 60 and 64 years old that were on the pedestrian at that moment. All of them were conscious and rushed to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. On the other hand, no passengers were wounded or trapped in the bus.

The Tower Transit said in their press release that the bus service was 969. They also informed the public that they suspended the captain in his duties and apologized for the inconvenience to all commuters. They are currently coordinating with the families of the injured individuals.

"We are in the process of getting in touch with the injured and their families and assisting the authorities with an investigation. To those affected in any way by the accident, we're very sorry.", as they stated on their Facebook Page.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF), police, and ambulance immediately responded at the incident location.

Several onlookers at the site uploaded the videos and images, which were uploaded and circulated online. Further investigation is still ongoing to identify the reason behind the incident. At 5:15 PM, personnel cleared the 969 bus from the road.

A similar incident happened a few years ago. A double-decker bus by the Go-Ahead also crashed into a pick-up point shelter at the exact location.

They built pick-up and drop-off points shelters for the commuters and raised the revenues. But, with these accidents with taxi stands or pick-up point shelters, do you think these shelters are safe?
